MIRI: Sarawak United Peoples Party (SUPP) has sacked long-time member Edward Andrew Luat from the party effective immediately, for contesting as a DAP candidate in the Serian parliamentary constituency.
Party president Datuk Seri Peter Chin announced the sacking Saturday, saying that the dismissal was immediate as Andrew had committed a very serious offence against the party constitution.
Andrew, who joined the Miri SUPP years ago when he worked in the oil industry there, is challenging SUPP candidate and incumbent MP Datuk Richard Riot for the seat.
